On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, the Hockinson High School and Washougal High School Jazz Bands will present a combined concert featuring the world-renowned trumpet and trombone player, Mic Gillette.
Mic Gillette has appeared on countless CDs and record albums spanning five decades for some of the biggest names in the business, including a dozen members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After touring for many years with Tower of Power, Mic began a program called “Music in the Schools.” He continues to teach, record, arrange, and play live gigs. Mic is best known for 40+ years of stellar horns work with Santana, Tower of Power, and Blood Sweat & Tears. He has appeared on countless albums and CDs for some of the biggest names in the music business– The Rolling Stones, Sheryl Crow, Doobie Brothers, Quincy Jones, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Jefferson Starship, Huey Lewis and the News, and numerous others.
The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Washougal High School’s Washburn Performing Arts Center, 1201 39th St, Washougal WA 98671. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors, with the proceeds going toward the Hockinson and Washougal music programs.
