Dear Current and Future HHS Band Students and Parents,
The schedule of events for band next year has been completed and can be found here. Please be sure to plug these dates into your family calendar now and let me know if you have any questions. The Google calendar on the website will be updated in the coming days to reflect these dates. Incoming freshmen, all of you are either in Symphonic Band or Percussion Ensemble so your only need to pay attention to those dates.
The document also contains information about our summer Band Camp August 17-21 from 9am to 4pm at HHS (as well as Saturday, August 15 from 9 to 4 for drumline). All students need to attend this event.
I realize that there are still a lot of unknowns surrounding our return to school in August/September. While circumstances probably will change between now and then, I felt it was best to at least get our “normal” calendar out to you so you could start making plans. Of course, if for some reason we are forced to cancel, reschedule, or adjust certain events I will let you know as soon as possible.
Please note that the school and district are in the beginning stages of developing plans for classes and after-school activities (such as concerts, football games, etc.) based on recommendations provided by Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA). I would expect that sometime mid-summer I should have an idea of any requirements relating to social distancing, group size, etc. For now I just ask for your patience and understanding, and know that I will get the information to you as soon as I hear a finalized plan. The health and safety of students will always be my top priority.
