IMPORTANT BAND DATES AND INFO: 2023-2024 Calendar, Remaining Events, and Current/Summer Fundraising
Dear Current and Future HHS Band Students and Parents (yes even current 8th graders),
As we enter the last weeks of school I thought a summative email with remaining dates, times, and locations as well as all the dates for next year would be appropriate. This is a long email, but please make sure to open all the links you see as they contain crucial details.
2023-2024 Calendar and Band Camp Information
This link will take you to a list of all the dates you need to know for next year. Please add them to your family calendar. The second page has more information on our summer band camp that all new and returning students attend. Some things to remember:
- The abbreviations for each class
- WE – Wind Ensemble
- SB – Symphonic Band (most incoming freshmen are here)
- PE – Percussion Ensemble (all drummers)
- JB – Jazz Band
- Symbols for Required vs. Optional
- X – attendance is required for all students in that class
- O – the event is optional and not graded, but could count toward earning your varsity letter in band
- S – some students from the class may be selected to attend this event
- As with any plans made more than a year in advance, things could change. Please keep an eye on our website, www.hockinsonmusic.com, for any changes or updates.

Upcoming Fundraisers
Many thanks to the Music Booster officers and parent volunteers who have stepped up to organize all of these upcoming fundraisers. Please show your appreciation by helping out wherever you can (parents and students alike).
If you are traveling with the band to Hawaii in December, you and your family are expected to participate in fundraising. Remember that fundraising monies will be shared among all students. If you are a graduating senior, please consider “paying it forward” by making sure other students who come after you are able to have the same experiences you had. Even if your family is in a position where you can afford the trip, we should be working to support all members of our “Band Family” so that no one is unable to attend this trip because of financial reasons.
