Thank you to all the parents and students who attended our fireworks stand meeting tonight. Here is a link to the document shared at the meeting tonight.
As of this email we have about 60% of our shifts filled. Any parents or students wishing to participate should follow the link below to sign up for shifts. At this point there is no maximum to the number of shifts a parent or band student can sign up for, so take as many as you can work!
We’re using SignUp.com to organize our shifts. Here’s how it works in 3 easy steps:1) Click this link to see our SignUp on SignUp.com: http://signup.com/go/NkGpSxe2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.3) Sign up! It’s Easy – you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.Note: SignUp.com does not share your email address with anyone.
Some important pointes to remember:
- This fundraiser is an INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISER. All profits from the event will benefit your (or your student’s ) individual fundraising account which can be accessed for any band-related expense (travel, uniforms, honor bands, etc.). Current 7th and 8th grade students/parents can bank their money for later on in high school.
- Pay close attention to the age restrictions and alternate spots. Students under 16 will be waving signs. Students over 16 will be working in the tent. Only adults can be cashiers.
- Please do everything in your power to work at least one shift on July 3 or July 4. The evening of the 4th is especially important, as that shift brings in more money than any other.
- Remember, this is your job! If you can’t come in you must find a sub!
- There will be a training meeting on June 27 at 6pm. All students/parents working at the fireworks stand should plan on attending.
- If you do not have a black HHS Band shirt please bring $10 to the training meeting or your first shift.
NIGHT SECURITY NEEDED
The Music Boosters will credit $100 per night to anyone’s fundraising account who is willing to do night security for the fireworks stand. This would involve staying at the stand (either inside the tent or in an RV) from 11:30pm to 8:30am. We need 9 nights covered (nights of June 27 thru July 4). Right now I have 4 of the 9 nights covered from people at our meeting (June 29 and 30, and 2 other nights wherever needed). The crew must have at least 1 adult and must be able to stay awake (playing cards, watching movies, etc.) until the morning crew arrives at 8:30am. We can only afford $100 per night so if 2 families want to work a night together they would have to split the $100. If we can’t get all 9 nights covered by this Sunday we will have to hire a security guard for all 9 nights, and we would rather give that money to you! This is an all or nothing thing. If you are willing to help, please email me back. Just FYI, we do not keep any money in the stand overnight.
Thanks!
